While I was in Australia, I got the chance to wander around Circular Quay during VIVID, an annual lights and technology festival held in early June. My understanding is that this festival came about to increase tourism and sales in Circular Quay during the winter months of Australia when tourism is low. It's all free and nightly for about two weeks. There were concerts, music, interactive displays, and light show choreography.
